Hell I could just paste a link to do that - how do I get a linked image to show in a thread? I used the img tags to get the dismal failure listed above...

Go to the link and right click on the image. Select "Save Picture As" and save the image to your HD. jpg or bmp. Then just upload from your computer as normal. Make sense?

yes, but I was hoping to keep from uploading the same picture multiple times. Once on the Polk site, I would think I could just link to that picture when I wanted, not copy it down and then back up to a new thread on the same board....

Then again, maybe I just can't do it that way - not really sure.

If you want to show pics in the body of your post (not as thumbnail or upload) you have to host it somewhere OR if it's an existing pic (like cd cover art like what we post in the what are you listening to thread)

right click on the image and select "copy image location"
then paste the link into the body of your post and use the proper code like this

    copied link of pic

I use Firefox for my browser so it may be slightly different with IE, but the idea is the same.

It is a b-tech BT77 They work great and hold up to 50# or so. (the pic listed is currently holding up my rear LSi7.) You can get them from crutchfield or even from the polk store.

Thanks Heiney - that is exactly what I needed. The confusing part to me is when linking to somewhere else on the polk site, you have to add the .jpg to the end of the link. They do not add it for you.

    Thanks again,

    Michael

edit - was hoping to attach this as my sig. Apparently the [img]trick does not work there... :o[/img]

The only way I know to imbed an image in the actual text is IF the image is hosted somewhere on the web, not just on your computer HD and not as an uploaded image thru "manage attatchments".

There are several free hosting sites all of which their names escape me a the moment. I think Photo Bucket is free.

If you have an email account, you probably have some webspace available to you from your ISP as part of the deal. Mine has 10Mb, which is nothing, but it suffices for hosting all the images I've posted for the last 2 years.
